Sports Awards 2008

Our Sports Awards Evening was held at the Cresta Court Hotel . We were delighted that our guest of honour was Shontayne Hape, The Bradford Bulls and New Zealand Rugby League Player who presented the awards to our pupils.

Our Ofsted inspection in June 2008 graded the school as outstanding. The sporting excellence of the school was recognised as a key part of the success of our school and it was a pleasure recognising the tremendous work of our staff and pupils on this wonderful occasion.

The last twelve months have been memorable for sport in our school. The opening of the Football Academy by Sir Bobby Charlton realised our dream of a top class facility to meet the sporting vision of our school and community. On a memorable day in October 2007 we hosted the England Football Team and since then have seen teams from the Premiership to the Conference using our Academy.

Last summer we opened a new floodlit facility for netball and tennis which is the best in the North West of England. Our Sports Academy gives our pupils the very best coaching and facilities that any school can offer and we look forward to producing more sporting champions in the future.
